What a great term we have had in Year two! The children have worked really hard and have improved lots since September.
After Christmas our focus will be The Great Fire of London. We will read books about the fire and children that were alive when it happened. We will use these tales to write our own stories from ours and others points of view. We will use maps to look at London and see how it has changed since the fire. There are many famous monuments in London and we will investigate these and why they were built. We will look at pictures from the time of the fire and try to re-create our own by blending colours.
In maths we will continue to work with money and then we will look at the properties of shape. At the same time we will continue to practise our multiplication, division, addition and subtraction questions.
Please keep reading as much as you can at home and we can't wait to to share our new phonics books with the children after Christmas.
Our PE days will continue to be Wednesdays and Fridays, so please make sure your child's kit is with them throughout the week.
Have a lovely holiday and we look forward to seeing you in January
