We wanted to make you aware of a relatively new and 100% free phonics resource that children seem to really enjoy playing at school. The game's main aim is to develop children's speed and accuracy of grapheme (letter) recognition but during the game children also practise reading tricky words, whole sentences and captions. The game can be played over days or weeks and it is adaptive; graphemes that the player has struggled with in the past will come up more often. The game is filled with lots of exciting things to do, which all allow children to practise an important aspect of reading (e.g. blending, segmenting or reading tricky words). We hope you find it useful.
