Today is National Share a Story Day; this term in F2 we have been looking at traditional tales like The Billy Goats Gruff, The Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children have found lots of ways to tell stories and share them with their friends. We have used puppets, dressing up, and small world play to act out the stories and get to know them really well. This has made the children really confident in telling the stories from books and trying to write their own versions. Class 2 made their own story where Goldilocks met three dinosaurs! There are lots of Share a Story ideas here: https://www.worldbookday.com/2018/10/share-story-national-tell-story-day We have sent home the phonic sounds that the children have covered this week, they can be used for quick recall, sound spotting activities and practicing formation. There are also rhyming strips based on the sounds covered so far. Looking at rhyme helps children notice and work with sounds in words. Talk about which sounds are the same, see if you can add more words or make you own lists.
